Big, bigger, bauma 2010

The list of superlatives describing bauma 2010 is long: largest total area, highest number of exhibitors, greatest international participation, heaviest exhibits. As the biggest platform for construction machinery worldwide, bauma was once again a significant source of contacts for exhibitors and visitors alike – and all the more important given the economic challenges of 2009 and 2010. Representatives of the sector’s leading companies were unanimous in confirming the positive messages given by Munich’s construction machinery fair, which they felt marked a turnaround for the industry.

Small and select
ICM proved the ideal venue for congresses, events and press conferences accompanying bauma 2010. Taking their lead from Messe München GmbH, exhibiting companies such as Caterpillar and Liebherr booked ICM’s halls and rooms for customer meetings and trade conventions flanking the product exhibitions/demos on the trade fair grounds. Many customers feel that ease of access and first-class settings make ICM’s congress centre perfect for hosting smaller, sideline events.

Synergized success
ICM hosts an average of seventy events flanking trade fairs every year. Scientific conventions such as the International Symposium on Robotics (ISR 2010), held in conjunction with Automatica, have long brought added interest to Messe München’s leading international trade fairs. These supporting events are also proof of concept, confirming the successful collaboration between Munich’s congress centre and exhibition space.
