Making it personal

“Talking in person to our customers is the very best way to communicate the benefits of our company and service offerings,” explains ICM Director Andrea Bisping, who sets great store by ICM’s regular participation in major industry gatherings such as the IMEX trade fair. “Direct customer contact is indispensable.”

No surprise, then, that the 2010 calendar is packed with customer events. Within about a month of IMEX, held in Frankfurt, ICM is joining forces with its partners in the Munich ICCA Committee (MIC) to hold customer presentations in Cologne and Düsseldorf. These will be followed by the twentieth “Prof-Treff” gathering at the end of July, bringing Munich’s professors and the MIC partners together since 1990 to foster dialogue between the academic and congress sectors. A customer event in Paris in October and the EIBTM trade fair at the end of November round off the busy schedule.

Polished premiere
This year’s IMEX marked the first promotion of ICM to customers in conjunction with the two other locations owned by Messe München GmbH – the M,O,C, event centre and the Neue Messe München exhibition grounds.
Boasting state-of-the-art halls spanning a total of 240,000 square metres and innovative service structures, these three attractive venues have already enjoyed many years of success under the umbrella brand Messe München International (MMI), hosting trade fairs, conventions and events of all types and sizes.

Unique in Europe
For Dr. Martin Lechner, in charge of marketing for ICM, M,O,C, and the exhibition grounds since 1 January 2010, Messe München’s integrated promotion of the three locations under one umbrella has created a concept and product portfolio unparalleled in Europe – at what is already one of the continent’s most attractive trade fair and congress venues. “This is an innovative way for us to build on previous successful bids and acquisitions and retain a strong market footing even in turbulent times,” he concludes.
