Ed Ruscha – 50 years of paintings: retrospective
Painter, film-maker, photographer – the American Ed Ruscha (born 1937) unites multiple disciplines. The retrospective at Munich’s Haus der Kunst gallery offers the first comprehensive survey of his works. Ed Ruscha’s art reflects the American way of life in the 1950s and 1960s – the legendary Route 66; the world of Hollywood films. Its hallmark lies in the combination of different graphic elements, entire linguistic landscapes and other tools to form an aesthetic of its own.
Haus der Kunst, 12 February to 2 May 2010,
